This position requires the ability to program, setup equipment, and fabricate parts with a level of precision. This position has the responsibility to communicate proposals for enhancements, improvement projects, and work plans.


  • Use computer software (Mastercam) to develop programs used for new parts on three, four, and five axis CNC machines.
  • Program machines accordingly and adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
  • Schedule machining by reviewing work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters.
  • Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
  • Set-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.
  • Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
  • Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work-pieces.
  • Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Occasional set-up and use of conventional milling machine for short run operations.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs.



  • 3 years minimum in Machinist/Programming experience required
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting required


  • Ability to operate numerical control machines.
  • Management of Measuring Instruments and interpretation of blueprints.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for short periods of time
  • Capable of standing for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
